"The Evening Sentinel", Rochester IN, Monday, Jan. 25, 1904, reads as follows: "Ex-County Commissioner Christian CAMPBELL died at his home near Leiters Ford this morning after an illness of two years which finally resulted in paralysis of the nerves.

Riggs. Death was attributed to a stroke.

Mrs. Emma Stech Mow, 85, died suddenly about 2 p.m. Thursday at her home in the Richland Center community, where she had lived 17 years. She was found by several neighbors, who summoned Dr. Howard Rowe and Sheriff Willard Clark to investigate.

Roy Riggs, 939 South 31st St. died at his home, after an illness with a heart ailment. He was born in Elkhart, Ind., Nov. 2, 1890, and lived most of his life here. He was married here in 1918 to Gladys Mow, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Richard, one grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Walter Stickley and Mrs. Peter Gilmer, South Bend. He was a pattern maker for the Peerless Pattern Company here. Friends may call in the Hollis funeral home Tuesday night and until the funeral there at 2 p.m. Thursday. Elder William Ortner, of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.

-----While attending the laying out of the child of J.N. Eastes, Mr. Maltby was surprised to find that the body was not stiff and that there were warm spots on various parts of the body. He called the attention of the family physician, who said that in his opinion, the child was dead, but that there should be no mistake made. They had better try to
resescitate the body. They tried, but were unable to bring about any further signs of life. On the contrary, the body became cold and stiff.
J.N. Eastes, born and reared in this county (Fulton), and who has yet many relatives and friends living here, was killed at Charlestown, W.VA., one week ago today (July 11, 1918), by a spray of acid when two 8,000 gallon capacity chemical tanks of the Warner Klipstein Chemical company, exploded. Another man was killed at the same time, and another so badly injured, he died two days later.
Many other employees of the company were so badly gassed, they were in serious condition for a time. The plant was working on war orders.
When the explosion occurred, clouds of muriactic acid were released, and those so unfortunate as to be caught directly in its path were horribly burned.
Ther funeral of Mr. Eastes was held at Charleston Sunday, and was attended by his brother, William Eastes of Gas City, and his daughter, Mrs. Ed Miller of this city. Mr. Eastes was a brother of Charles Eastes, who was so long employed at the Wigger Buggy and Harness Shop, and who died a few weeks ago. He is survived by another brother, Frank Eastes, and the following other children: Roy L. Eastes, Mrs Ben Edwards (Cora Edith), and Mrs. Jess Tudor (Edna Mae).
Constantine Miner, a former well known resident of Rochester, died at Marion, IN, this morning at 9:30, aged about 80 years.
Mr. Miner had been in ill health for some time, and was confined to his bed since being injured in a street car accident in Marion last fall. Paralysis was the direct cause of death.
The deceased conducted a blacksmith and wagon works in this city (Rochester) for a number of years, and removed to Marion about some years ago. He was well known to older residents of the community and had a host of friends.
He is survived by a wife and four children: Oscar L., of Peru; Oliver C, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Alice Behr, of Erie PA; and Mrs. Carrie Dudgeon, of Rochester.
The funeral services will be conducted at the family home in Marion, Tuesday, and the remains will arrive here at 3:30 over the L.E.& W., for burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.I Think of Thee, --- for Lucy

David Mowe, 75, well known resident of the Whippoorwill community died at 6:30 Wednesday morning. Death was due to complications of diseases and followed a two months illness.
Mr. Mowe, who had spent practically all of his life in the Whippoorwill neighborhood, followed the occupations of a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the Grand View Church.
Surviving are his wife, whose maiden name was Katherine Beehler; two daughters, Mrs. Maime Stickler, near Whippoorwill, Mrs. Gladys Riggs of South Bend; three sons, Floyd, Omer and Carlton, all of South Bend; two brothers, Marion of Whippoorwill and Samuel, of Oregon. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.
Mrs. David Mow, former resident of the Grandview neighborhood northwest of Rochester, died at noon today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Gladys Riggs, 939 31st St., South Bend.
Ora Foster of the Foster Funeral Home, this city, left immediately for South Bend. A complete obituary will be published in the Thursday edition of the "News-Sentinel".
MRS. CATHERINE MOW SERVICES SATURDAY
Mrs. Catherine Mow, 88, died Wednesday noon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Riggs, South Bend, after an illness of five years.
A native of Sandusky, O., she was born June 3, 1859, and spent most of her life in Fulton County. For the last 12 years she has resided with her daughter in South Bend. Mrs. Mow was the daughter of George and Mary Buehler and married David B. Mow in Rochester. She belonged to the Adventist church in South Bend.
Funeral services, supervised by the Foster funerl home, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Richland Center Methodist church with the Rev. Mr. Sommerville officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center Cemetery.
A short prayer service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the daughter's home in South Bend.
Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Maine Stickler of South Bend; three sons, Floyd of Rochester, Omer of South Bend and Carlton of Moose Lake, Wash.; ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The husband and two daughters preceded her in death.William J. Gilchrist, aged 74, died at 4 a.m. today in the home of his son, Byron, 412 East Woodside Avenue. He had been in ill health since November. Born in Fulton County, Ind., March 31, 1869 he came here five years ago from Culver, Ind. His wife, Artiemicia Mow, of Richland Center, Ind. died in 1920. He leaves two sons, Byron, with whom he made his home, and Virgil, of Jeffersonville, Ind.; seven grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John Ault, of Culver. Friends may call in the Hay funeral home from Tuesday noon until Wednesday noon when the body will be sent to Grandview Evangelical Church, west of Argos, Ind. to lie from 1 p.m. until services at 2 p.m. Rev. Edward M. Sausoman, pastor of Ewing Avenue Evangelical Church, South Bend will officiate,
and burial will be in Richland Center cemetery.
Another death after years of patient suffering was that of Mrs. Adam Ault Friday morning. Her disease was heart failure and dropsy and her death had been expected for some time. Mrs. Ault was the daughter of the late James Keely and the mother of two children...Mrs. Nettie Johnson and Oliver Ault. She was a devoted christian, wife and mother and died at age fifty-one. The funeral was one of the largest ever seen in Rochester and it was conducted at Grace church, where deceased was a member, Sunday afternoon, Rev. R.D. Utter, a former pastor officiating.
Relatives of this city have received word of the death of Ollie AULT which occurred at his home in Everett, WASHINGTON last Tuesday. Death was due to heart trouble. Mr. AULT was buried at Everett. Mr. AULT was born in this city and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adam AULT. He was about 70 years of age. For many years he worked for A.J. BARRETT in his lumber yard in this city leaving Rochester 20 years ago to make his home in WASHINGTON. A sister, Mrs. Nettie JOHNSON, lives at Everett, WASHINGTON.
"John Ault, 90, a former Culver resident, died Sunday morning at the home of his son, Clarence, near Tippecanoe, with whom he had resided the past four years.
He was born Sept. 8, 1869, in Fulton county and spent his entire life in Fulton and Marshall counties. His wife, Mary, preceded him in death on July 5. 1949. A son, Herman, preceded him in death on March 5, 1959.
Surviving are five sons, Clarence of Tippecanoe, Howard of Rochester,, Ralph and Eldon, both of Plymouth, and Harry of Chicago; one brother, Clyde, of Rochester; 20 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren.
He was a member of the Emmanuel EUB church, Culver, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday by the pastor, the Rev. Vernon L. Palmer. Interment will be in the Culver Masonic cemetery.
Friends may call at the Easterday Funeral Home, Culver, until 1 p.m. Tuesday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the hour of the service.""Mrs. Mary Anderson Ault, age 73, wife of John Ault, died in her home in Culver, Tuesday afternoon after an illness of nine months. She was born in Fulton county, six miles northwest of Rochester September 13, 1875 and spent her entire life in Fulton and Marshall county. She was the daughter of Thomas and Phoebe Gilchrist.
Surviving are her husband, John Ault, six sons, Herman and Howard of Argos, Clarence of Tippecanoe, Ralph and Eldon of Plymouth, Harry of Chicago, 21 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ault was a member of the Culver E.U.B. church where services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday. Rev. E.D. Mast of Urbana will be in charge and burial will be in the Culver cemetery. Friends may call at the residence in Culver."
He was nearly 73 years old and a widely known and useful citizen. He had been married 3 times and leaves a wife [Rebecca M. ZUCK CAMPBELL] and nine children, as follows: Mrs. Angie [CAMPBELL] LaMAR Carmi,Ill.; James, John, Barch and Lucretia CAMPBELL, Mrs. Ulysses [A.] [Clara CAMPBELL] LEITER and Mrs. Wm. [Dottie CAMPBELL] YELTON, all of Leiters and Attorney C[harles] C. CAMPBELL, of this city; and Prof. A.A.CAMPBELL, Superintendent of the Peru schools. The funeral occurs Wednesday."

She was born July 27, 1881, in Fulton County and came to South Bend in 1937 from Battle Creek, Mich. Her husband,Theodore, died in 1922.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ernest O'dell, Mrs. Frank Cauffman and Mrs. Hugh Steininger, all of South Bend; a son, Theodore of Gas City, Ind., nine grandchildren; and two brothers, Omer Mow of South Bend and Carlton Mow of Moses Lake, Wash. Two other daughters preceded her in death.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Lydick United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Seitz, pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Richland Center.
Friends may call at the Forest G. Hay and Son Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2-4 and 7-9 Thursday.

Theodore Stickler, 57, farmer who lived near the Pendleton bridge is dead of cancer of the stomach. He had been ill about six months. He is survived by a widow and five children. Funeral Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Whippoorwill Church. Burial at Richland Center.
Floyd B. Mow, 75, of near Richland Center, died at 7 p.m. today in Woodlawn hospital, where he had been a patient one week. He had been ill for 11 months.
Mr. Mow had lived in Richland township since 1943 after moving from South Bend. He was a former construction superintendent for the H. G. Christman Co. of South Bend and also had been associated for four years with the Albert Kahn Architects and Engineers of Detroit. Born April 26, 1884 in Fulton County, Mr. Mow was the son of David and Catherine Beehler Mow. On June 14, 1905, he was married in South Bend to Emma Stech. He was a member of the St. Joseph Lodge 45 and Scottish Rite. He attended the Richland Center Methodist Church.
Surviving are a son, Floyd Mow, Jr., Roseville, Mich., three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Theodore (Maine) Stichler and Mrs. Roy (Gladys) Riggs, both of South Bend;
two brothers, Omer F. South Bend, and Carlton G., Moses Lake, Wash., several nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, a son and a sister preceded him in death.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Foster and Good Funeral home here with the Rev. Dale Hamilton officiating, assisted by the Rev. Harry Shewmaker. Burial will be in the Riverview cemetery at South Bend., where the Masonic Lodge 45 will conduct graveside rites.
Mrs. Mow was born to Jacob and Katherine Stech April 10, 1875 in Billingsville, IN. On June 14, 1905, she married Floyd V. Mow, who died February 22, 1960.
Mrs. Mow was a member of the Richland Center Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Floyd Mow, Jr., Roseville, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Sophia Auctin, Los Angeles, Calif.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was one of a family of eight. One son, three sisters and three brothers preceded her in death.
Services will be at 12 noon Monday at the Foster and Good Funeral home in Rochester. The Rev. Dale Hamilton of the Monon Methodist Church will officiate assisted by the Rev. Harry Schumaker
of the Richland Center Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Riverview cemetery in South Bend.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Satyrday.
Mrs. Gladys M. Riggs, 75, of 939 S. 31st St., died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of several months. She was born July 20, 1893 in Mentone. On April 21, 1918, she married to Roy R. Riggs, who died in 1951. Surviving is a son, Roy Richard Riggs of South Bend; a grandson; a sister, Mrs. Maine STICHLER of New Carlisle; two brothers, Omer Mow of South Bend and Carlton Mow of Moses Lake, Wis. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Hollis Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Elder L.A. Kraner, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery.
Funeral service for Carlton G. Mow, 85, of Moses Lake will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Chapel of Memories Funeral Home, with Pastor Wally Snook officiating. Burial will follow at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Mow died Tuesday at Samaritan Hospital.
He was born April 3, 1899 in Fulton County, Ind. and was schooled in South Bend, Ind. and they moved to Moses Lake in 1946. Mr. Mow worked for L & S Construction Co. before his retirement in 1961. His wife preceded him in death in 1970 and he married Lula Frear Oct. 9, 1971 in Moses Lake.
Mr. Mow is survived by his wife, Lula, at the home; one step-daughter, Joan Winger of Kirkland; two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter.
If desired memorials in Mr. Mow's name may be made to the Moses Lake United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dollie-Glee Mow, 69, a resident of Moses Lake since 1946, died last night at Samaritan Hospital after a short illness. She had been admitted at 11:25 yesterday morning after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Mrs. Mow was born near Rochester in Fulton County, Ind. on Jan. 5, 1901. She was educated there, graduating from high school in 1917, then attending business college at South Bend, Ind. whence she graduated in 1920.
After graduation she worked at Culver Military Academy, Culver Ind., as a private secretary and stenographer until 1926. That year she went to work for the Studebaker Corp. in the same capacity until 1931.
She wed Carlton G. Mow at South Bend, Ind. on June1, 1927.
In 1931, Mrs. Mow took a leave of absence which lasted until 1943.
Mr. Mow went to work for the DuPont Corporation in 1940..in 1943 transferred to Hanford..to Rosemont, Minn...to Orange, Texas. In 1946, they left DuPont and came to Moses Lake.
Mrs. Mow went to work at the Seattle National Bank until Feb. of 1966 when she was feted with a retirement party.
Survivors include her husband, Carlton, at home, 207 W. Sixth St, Moses Lake, and a nephew Joel Weir of Noblesville, Ind.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the Eccleston-Penhallurick Chapel of Memories with the Rev. Donald Griffin of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Pioneer Gardens.
The family has requested that friends so desiring may send flowers, or donate to the Heart Fund at the Samaritan Hospital.
"Mother KEELEY, consort of James KEELEY, died Thusday morning after a protracted illness, aged about 75 years.
Deceased was born in Ohio, came to Indiana in early life and married the late James KEELEY. Thirteen children were born to the union--nine of whom survive. She was a devout member of the Methodist church and widely known and beloved for her charity and motherly interest in the welfare of her large circle of acquaintances.
The funeral service was conducted Saturday by Rev. BRIGGS and the remains were laid to rest in the same grave with those of her husband which were removed from the Citizens cemetery to the Odd Fellows."
