I descend from John WAGERS and Margaret LOGUE WAGERS, who came to Indian Creek Township in the 1840's. John died about 1853 and Margaret about 1870. Their four daughters married in the area. Mary Ruth married Eli MIKESELL, Mathilda married Samuel DECKER, another daughter married a HUNTSINGER, and the fourth married Clark PARCELS. The family intersected with HUMMEL, GOOD, and other Pulaski families. I'd be interested in exchanging info with anyone working on these lines.

Karen Widner 24 February 1997
I am looking for any information on Marie Widner born in Pulaski Co. Ind. on 1-18-1856. She married William Shelhart. I believe that her parents were Seth Widner born in 1829 in Ohio and Matilda "Nancy" Parsons born in 1834. They had 6 children.

Also, I am looking for any information on John Leonard Widner. All I have is that he was born at sea in 1771 and settled in Pulaski Co, IN in 1835. He was in the war of 1812 and I am told that he was the first death in Pulaski Co.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

He (Orville) was either the county recorder for Pulaski county, or the retired county recorder. He was researching the CLOSE line, which was the reason for his visit to my Aunt. I am trying to contact them so that we may compare notes. I have much information on the CLOSE line which I will gladly share.

Robert William CHAMBERS was born 25 Feb 1833 in Indiana. I always thought he was born in Mayfield, Kentucky. He married 5 June 1856 Sarah Emily MAYFIELD. The Illinois 1900 census says that he was born in Indiana. I know that he died 27 June 1920 in Francesville, Pulaski Co., IN. His wife died much earlier in 1901 so maybe he had moved back closer to his family?
Any CHAMBERS connections, anyone?

Carolyn Stoffel 27 September 1996

All -
I have .very. limited Internet access.
I'm looking for Internet email addresses for Winamac, Pulaski County, Indiana - city or county library, genealogical or historical society, newspaper, county offices, etc.
I went there several times in the late '60s and found quite a bit but they didn't have Xerox machines. I've found more, too, but need copies of things that I know exist, as well as hoping to find more.
My ancestors were among the first settlers in the county and I had direct ancestors there until 1926. In the late '60s I was stunned to learn that the newspaper editor was a half-cousin, twice removed. I may still have relatives there in collateral lines.
I have snail addresses, but... my printer is almost illegible so I'd rather avoid using it.
Thanks.
